Chinese Porcelain Plate in Swatow Style – Iron Red Decoration
A Chinese porcelain plate decorated in the traditional Swatow (Zhangzhou) style, featuring iron-red painted motifs and geometric patterns. This style is inspired by late Ming dynasty export wares, known for their bold and spontaneous decoration.
The plate displays a central medallion surrounded by freely executed red patterns. The reverse shows a simple glazed surface with a pronounced foot ring and visible kiln impurities, characteristic of this type of production.
