Description from the seller
Rare spice shaker set produced in Italy, in Milan, by the renowned Cenacchi silversmith.
They suit any table with their classic and refined design, adding a touch of great elegance.
Made of glass with silver-plated caps.
Excellent condition.
Cenacchi, run by Augusto Cenacchi, produced high-quality artistic home furnishings (brass beds, lampshades, lamps, chandeliers, silver trays, dishes) as early as 1961. The company’s facilities were well organized into various departments (machine shop, presses, toolmaking, carpentry, metal cleaning and polishing, electroplating baths, assembly, lampshades, testing, warehousing, shipping, showroom, offices, reception, etc.). Almost all the staff lived in Molinella and nearby towns, apart from a small group of expert die-cutters/engravers from Bologna. The company was led by Augusto Cenacchi, who worked with his wife and his brother Alfredo and, later, other family members. And it focused heavily on product quality, which it successfully publicized at various trade fairs (Milan in particular).
As early as 1966, so only a few years after its foundation, Cenacchi employed as many as 140 employees, demonstrating exceptional growth in turnover and product quality. In the golden period (mid-70s) the company reached its peak workforce with 167 employees, men and women, placing among the top three private companies in Molinella's industrial sector. With the crisis and national and international recession of 1983-84, Cenacchi, like many other Italian firms, was swept away. In the following years there was an attempt by Alfredo, the brother, to relaunch those artistic crafts, but it did not yield the hoped-for results.
