Two antique cut-glass decanters from the 19th century, likely English or Irish, with three neck rings and mushroom stoppers, made from heavy lead crystal, large 29×11×11 cm and 1515 g, small 15×8×5 cm and 355.5 g, dating to George III–Regency (ca. 1820), in very good used condition with minor age-related wear.
Description from the seller
Two antique cut-glass decanters probably dating from the 19th century.
Such decanters were often produced in England or Ireland during the George III or Regency period (ca. 1820).
St yle: The design with the three characteristic rings around the neck was widely produced in England and Ireland from about 1820–1840. The rings were originally intended to provide a better grip when pouring.
Material: They are made of heavy lead crystal or cut glass.
Pattern: The broad band with diamond-cut facets in a diamond shape is a classic Victorian/Georgian decor.
Stops: The large decanter has a mushroom stopper, typical of this period.
The small example could also be a perfume bottle and shares many similarities with the large decanter.
Dimensions of the large decanter: approx. 29 cm high x 11 cm wide x 11 cm deep, and a weight of 1515 g.
The small decanter is 15 cm high x 8 cm wide x 5 cm deep and weighs 355.5 g.
Both are in very good condition with signs of use that are consistent with age.
See photos for a good view; they are part of the description.
