Post-medieval pewter spoon dating to circa 1550–1575, with a Tudor Rose mark and initials A E in the crown, a large round bowl with a hexagonal stem, about 18.5 cm long and a bowl diameter of 79.2 mm, in good condition and acquired from the Netherlands from a private collection, authenticity original with certificate available on request.

Typical late 16th century pewter spoon with Tudor Rose in the bowl, initials A E in the crown of the rose. Large round bowl with hexagonal stem.
-> The Tudor Rose was introduced after Henry VII’s victory in 1485 (the union of the red rose of Lancaster and the white rose of York, via his marriage to Elizabeth of York. It remained a symbol throughout the Tudor dynasty (Henry VII to Elizabeth I), roughly 1485–1603.
Length: ± 18,5 cm
Diameter bowl: ± 79,2 mm
