Description from the seller
The subject of the auction is a unique, three-armed candlestick in brutalist style, an excellent example of postwar modernism from the Eastern bloc countries (Poland).
• Origin and history: The item comes from a private family collection in Poland. It has been in the possession of the family since the early 70s (or longer), which guarantees its authenticity and age.
• Design: The candlestick is characterized by a raw, sculptural form. It features geometric, triangular cutouts in the arms and a rough, rich texture with details reminiscent of rivets. The whole is mounted on a stable, tripod base.
• Material and workmanship: Made from solid, heavy metal (probably cast iron or thick forged steel). This is a handcrafted piece with substantial weight, underscoring its quality and durability.
• Condition: Very good vintage condition. The item has natural, delicate patina and traces of rust and wax, which are typical for authentic metal pieces from that period and add character. The item has not undergone renovation to preserve its original appearance.
