Description from the seller
Victorian English Walnut Burl Bookcase
Important period English library piece from the Victorian era, dating between 1870 and 1880, crafted in fine walnut burl and perfectly preserved. The piece develops over two stacked sections, with the upper part featuring four glazed doors framed by elegant molded uprights and a classical, laterally molded cornice.
The doors display shaped frames with refined profiles and highlight the interior, divided by adjustable shelves, ideal for displaying books or collectible items. The quality of the walnut burl stands out across the entire surface, with dense, lively grain that adds depth and aesthetic value to the whole.
The lower section consists of four panel doors, also veneered in burl, concealing spacious storage compartments. Inside we find functional division with shelves, a large pull-out drawer with a recessed brass handle, and a lateral chest of drawers with turned handles in solid wood.
The imposing proportions, structural solidity, and the refinements of the woods make this bookcase a grand statement piece, perfect for professional studies, private libraries, or prestigious classical interiors.

Width: 240 cm
Depth: 60 cm
