Description from the seller

Pattern Series directed and curated by Luciano Caruso
Collection of 38 artist books of visual poetry (complete 40 volumes)
AA.VV.
Edited by Napoli, Visual Art Center 1974-1975

Now extinct, the Visual Art Center gallery was also known as Studio Boenzi-Jacobelli, after the names of its directors, and had its sede (headquarters) in Naples at 147 Orazio Street. Its activity was mainly linked to the members of Continuum, the Neapolitan avant-garde group led primarily by Luciano Caruso and Stelio Maria Martini, which hosted in the 1974-1975 biennium events and initiatives (notably the Autofunus action by Enrico Bugli, carried out in June 1974). In the same years it published, also for Continuum, several texts, and mainly the Pattern series, directed by Caruso and composed of 40 small-format volumes, printed in 200 copies, numbered (sometimes signed) by hand and recognizable, with the exception of a few cases, by simple and austere covers in soft colors, with only the indications related to author, title, and publisher incised. Caruso involves writers and artists close to him, both Italian and international, engaged in the exploration between word and image, including names such as Martini, Diacono, Miccini, Parmiggiani, Della Casa, Kolar, with the addition of a few volumes on past authors.
