A lot of 20 cobbler’s shoe lasts from Italy, dating to the 1950s, made of wood, leather, cork and brass, in good condition with signs of age and use.
Description from the seller
10 pairs (20 objects) of custom shoe lasts from the old cobbler’s shop.
A rare and fascinating set of original wooden shoemaking forms, silent witnesses of an ancient know-how, made of skilled hands, patience, and precision. Each piece carries the marks of time and work: handwritten numbers, traces of use, small imperfections that are not defects but authentic memories of the workshop.
These lasts are not mere objects: they are creation tools, born to bring to life bespoke shoes, shaped to the foot and the person, when every pair was unique and unrepeatable. The wood, polished and worn in the right places, tells years of daily use, trials, adjustments, and artisanal care.
When laid out together they create a striking, scenographic impact, perfect for:
- shop windows, studios, or showrooms
- interior displays with an industrial, vintage, or wabi-sabi style
- creative studios, museums, film or theater sets
- collectors of objects related to the world of footwear and Italian craftsmanship
Each last is different from the others, with unique proportions, heights, and shapes: a variety that makes the lot highly decorative and full of character. They are not reproductions nor new objects: they are original, lived, real.
Owning this set means bringing into the home a fragment of history, a tribute to manual work and to the beauty of things made to endure. Objects that do not follow trends, but endure them, keeping their own charm intact.
An ideal lot for those seeking authenticity, character, and soul.
Esthetically well preserved, it shows some signs of time and use, vintage objects as seen in the photos.
Highly decorative items with great vintage allure. Ideal for furnishing lofts, gyms, bars, or artisan shops.
Made entirely of hand-carved wood, each with different shapes and characteristics based on the client’s foot.
Judging by the bizarre shapes of the feet, they should date to the post-World War II era. Indeed, at that time hard labor in the countryside was commonplace and what suffered most from the heaviness of work were the lower limbs. Industrial.
aesthetically preserved in good vintage condition, they have been treated against woodworm and varnished with colorless stain. In conditions as shown in the photos which are an integral part of the description.
Measurements: various from 29x10x15 cm to 23x9x15 cm
