Description from the seller

An antique mantel clock in a beautiful transitional style from Art Nouveau to early Art Deco. The casing is made of patinated brass or bronze and is characterized by a sleek, rectangular form with rounded corners on a stepped base.

The most striking detail is the splendid, high-relief medallion on the front, depicting a lush floral motif of roses, leaves and rose hips. This floral element is typical of the Jugendstil/Art Nouveau period.

The dial behind glass is numbered. These numbers have faded very strongly and evenly over the decades, giving the clock a beautiful, mysterious 'ghost dial' effect and an authentic antique character. The back features the original metal cover plate with the winding key and adjustment knobs for the mechanical movement.

Condition: The clock is in good decorative condition with a beautiful deep patina of age. The dial is heavily faded (see photos).
