Daum Nancy perfume bottle in Art Nouveau style, circa 1900–1910, cylindrical multistratified glass with a red to colourless gradient, complete with the original silver mounting and screw cap, measuring 14.5 cm high by 4 cm in width and depth, signed with a Lorraine cross under the base and in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
Elegant slim cylindrical travel perfume bottle, produced by the prestigious Manufacture Daum in Nancy around 1900-1910. The piece is complete with its rare original silver mounting, which serves both as an airtight closure and as protection.
- Multistratified glass and Cameo: The body is made of multilayer glass with a splendid shade that shifts from colorless transparent at the base to a deep ruby/crimson toward the top.
- Acid-etched decoration: The surface features a delicate naturalistic floral motif (leaves and tendrils) achieved by acid engraving, creating a pleasant tactile contrast between the polished and satin-finished (mat) parts.
- Metal mount: The bottle preserves the original threaded collar and the coordinating silver screw-cap with an antique patina, essential to preserve the essences during transport.
- Precious miniature: The small size and flat base (bearing the signature) make this object a perfect example of high-luxury "usable glassware" of the era.
- Author: Daum Nancy (signed with the Lorena Cross in black enamel beneath the base).
- Era: circa 1900-1910 (Art Nouveau).
- Condition: Excellent. The glass is intact, with no chips or hairlines. The metal mount is original and functional. The signature is legible.
Daum Nancy perfume bottles with original and complete metal mounts are highly sought-after pieces, as components were often lost or replaced over time. The red-tinted coloration is one of the most iconic and collectible of the manufactory.
