Daum Nancy Art Nouveau cylindrical perfume flacon in multistratified cammeo glass with a green base and enamelled floral motifs, complete with an internal screw cap and an external silver ‘‘cup’’ cap, dating c.1905 and in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
Exclusive cylindrical perfume bottle (or salt cellar) in multistratum glass, a masterpiece of the prestigious Daum Nancy Manufacture, dating from 1900-1910. The piece is distinguished by its rare complete silver mount finely chased with raised floral motifs.
The bottle is a sublime example of "luxury-use glassware":
- Multistratum Glass and "Vitrifications": the body features a marvelous apple-green marmoriz ed bottom at the base, obtained with inclusions of glass powders, fading to amber and brown‑orange tones toward the top.
- Cameo Decor and Enamels: the floral decoration (likely tulips) is created through acid engraving and subsequently hand finished with polychrome enamels, giving the design a tactile and vibrant texture.
- Double Original Mounting: the bottle is complete with its internal screw cap (for hermetic seal) and an external protective "drinking glass"-style silver cap with a coordinated base, both decorated with refined embossed floral motifs.
- Satin Finish: the glass surface is entirely acid-worked to achieve a velvety, opaque (matte) appearance.
Author: Daum Nancy (marked with the Lorena Cross incised on the base).
Era: Circa 1905 (Art Nouveau).
Condition: Excellent. Glass intact with no chips or hairlines. The metal mounts are original, functional, and show a beautiful antique patina. Legible signature.
Complete Daum bottles with all their original metal parts are extremely difficult to find. The combination of cameo-etched glass, painted enamel, and worked silver places this piece in an elite market tier, making it a safe investment.
