Zorki -4 + Jupiter-8 | Analogue camera

The Zorki 4 is an analog rangefinder camera produced in the Soviet Union from the late 1950s to the 1970s by KMZ Krasnogorsk Mechanical Works. It is one of the most widespread and representative machines of Soviet photography.

Design and construction
The Zorki 4 has an all-metal body, very solid and heavy compared to many compact cameras of the era.
The design is strongly inspired by the German Leica II, with classic, functional lines.
Main features:
- Robust construction and “pure mechanical”
- Simple but durable finishes
- Very analog and artisanal feel

Rangefinder system
It is a rangefinder (telemeter):
- focusing is achieved by aligning two images in the viewfinder
- you do not look through the lens
This system makes it:
- quiet
- compact compared to SLRs
- very precise, but requires practice
