Clemens Briels – Life is just a Spec of Sand
In dit werk vertaalt Clemens Briels het idee van vergankelijkheid naar een levendig, kosmopolitisch beeld. Met zijn kenmerkende kleuren, vormen en ritmische compositie roept hij een speelse, droomachtige wereld op die de kijker uitnodigt voorbij het alledaagse te kijken. 

Clemens Briels, geboren in Son in 1946, is een veel gevraagde kunstenaar in binnen- en buitenland. Zijn kunstwerken zijn opgenomen in diverse gerenommeerde kunstcollecties en hij werd als eerste Nederlandse kunstenaar verkozen tot “Official Olympic Artist” voor de Olympische Winterspelen in Salt Lake City in 2002.

Achter de kunstwerken van Clemens Briels schuilt altijd een verhaal: kleine anekdotes uit een tegengestelde samenleving. In zijn eigen stijl, het Antipodisme, verbeeldt hij liever het tegenovergestelde van het stereotype. Zo confronteert hij de kijker met een fantasierijke blik op het alledaagse.

Geïnspireerd door zijn reizen naar de Oriënt, de Caraïben en Noord- en Zuid-Amerika, en door Latijns-Amerikaanse muziek als son, mambo en merengue, creëert Briels kleurrijke, dynamische werken. Zijn kunst is tijdloos en kosmopolitisch: kleur is zijn middel, het verhaal zijn boodschap.

Bezichtiging is uiteraard mogelijk. Daarnaast beschikken wij over onze eigen in-house lijstenmakerij, die zijn 85e jubileumjaar viert. Verder maken wij gebruik van restauratoren uit de brancheorganisatie: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. Mocht u hiervan gebruiken willen maken dan horen wij dit uiteraard graag.
