Description from the seller
Minolta SR-1 (Chiyoda Kogaku) with Auto Rokkor-PF 55mm f/1.8 Lens
An excellent opportunity to own a piece of Japanese photographic history. This Minolta SR-1 is an early, high-quality 35mm SLR produced by Chiyoda Kogaku (the precursor to Minolta). Known for its robust mechanical build and sleek design, it represents the golden era of manual film photography.
Product Details
Camera Body: Minolta SR-1 (Silver/Chrome finish)
Manufacturer: Chiyoda Kogaku (Japan)
Lens: Auto Rokkor-PF 55mm f/1.8
Film Type: 35mm
Mount: Minolta SR-mount
Condition Report
This camera has been tested and is confirmed to be in functional working order.
Mechanics: The shutter fires at various speeds. The film advance (winding) mechanism and shutter release are smooth.
Aperture System: Functions as designed for this vintage model; the aperture remains stopped down after the shutter is released and automatically returns to the widest setting once the film is wound for the next shot.
Focusing: The lens helicoid rotates smoothly for precise manual focusing.
Self-Timer: Tested and fully operational.
Optics (Lens): The lens appears clean under normal light. However, under a strong diagnostic light, small traces of mold/fungus are visible. This is common for vintage glass and often has minimal impact on image character.
Viewfinder: Overall clear, with a small amount of internal dust consistent with age.
Film Compartment: Clean and well-maintained.
Auction Notes
Note on Vintage Electronics: As this is a vintage mechanical item from the 1960s, it is sold "as is." While currently working, please be aware that old mechanisms can develop issues over time. No returns or refunds are accepted for this reason.
Don't miss out on this classic Minolta—a perfect addition for collectors or fans of vintage "all-metal" SLR photography!
