GHAZNY - Carpet - 200 cm - 170 cm

These pieces are made by knotters of Afghan origin, who in their designs draw on the patterns of the most important examples of Caucasian production from past centuries. The main element that characterizes them consists of the materials used for knotting. They are indeed Ghazny wool spun and hand-dyed following traditional methods and using natural-origin dyes. This gives the finished rug a particular patina and an unevenness in color that becomes a further and fundamental decorative element. Splendid, in particular, are the vivid contrasts between the field color and the ornamental motifs
