Description from the seller
A refined and characterful Edwardian walking cane, crafted in London in 1907 and bearing full English silver hallmarks, including the maker’s mark of E. Blumenstein & Co (Emma Blumenstein).
The cane features a beautifully shaped L-form handle in solid silver, paired with a richly toned bamboo shaft displaying natural grain and warm patina developed over more than a century. The proportions are particularly elegant, with a comfortable grip and a timeless silhouette typical of the Edwardian period.
The silver mounts are fully hallmarked for London 1907, confirming authenticity and quality of manufacture. Emma Blumenstein is a known London silversmith, and pieces bearing her mark are increasingly appreciated by collectors of fine walking canes and antique silver.
In good antique condition, showing honest signs of age and use. The silver handle retains a soft sheen with light surface wear and small imperfections consistent with age. The bamboo shaft displays natural wear and patina, adding to the cane’s authentic character. The original ferrule is present and shows expected wear from use.
A fine and genuine Edwardian example – combining functionality, craftsmanship and understated elegance – ideal for collectors or as a decorative antique piece.
