Description from the seller
A refined and elegant Edwardian walking cane, crafted in London in 1900 and fitted with a finely engraved sterling silver collar by L. Corper & Co.
The cane features a beautifully curved natural horn handle, displaying warm honey tones and subtle variations in colour, perfectly complementing the rich patina of the bamboo shaft. The proportions are slender and graceful, characteristic of turn-of-the-century craftsmanship.
The silver collar is richly decorated with foliate engraving and a central cartouche, adding a touch of understated sophistication. Clear hallmarks confirm London assay and the year 1900.
In good antique condition, with an attractive patina. The horn handle remains smooth and comfortable to the touch. The bamboo shaft shows expected age-related wear, adding to its authentic character. The silver collar presents light surface wear with small imperfections consistent with age. The lower end shows wear and the original ferrule is no longer present.
