Description from the seller
Exceptional composite set of serviceware and cutlery, offering a comprehensive panorama of European living from the late 19th century to the first half of the 20th century.
This high-quality collection blends precious metals (silver-plated), organic materials (horn), and collectible tin.
The ensemble includes several centerpiece pieces:
Prestige Salad Service (Circa 1900): pair of large natural blond horn salad servers. The handles in silver-plated metal are richly worked with foliage and scroll motifs, typical of the Art Nouveau period.
Pieces of Form & Service:
A large circular pierced bowl with a geometric design, emblematic of the Art Deco period.
An English-style coffee/tea service (tall silhouette), including a coffee pot with a streamlined line.
A large oval service tray with an “undulating” border.
Complete & Varied Tableware:
Several sets of forks, spoons and knives (steel blades) by Ercuis.
Classic sought-after models: "Filet" (clean lines) and "Contour" (Louis XV style).
Ladles and large serving spoons to match.
Table Accessories:
Set of knife rests in cut glass (or crystal).
Two presentation plates in patinated tin with a polylobed border.
Condition and Preservation
The set is presented in its vintage-discovery state.
Structure: Excellent overall condition, no major deformations.
Appearance: Authentic patina of use. A light oxidation is present on some pieces (tarnish), a sign of the original silvering, which will regain its full luster after appropriate cleaning.
Technical Characteristics
Materials: Silver-plated metal, Horn, Tin, Steel, Glass.
Styles: Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Classical Louis XV.
Era: 1890 - 1950.
