Kokeshi doll, a wooden Japanese folk art figure in good vintage condition, dating to 1980–1990, with a 20 cm height, 4.5 cm width and 4 cm depth, and a multicolour hand-painted finish.
Description from the seller
This is a charming and creative (and slightly whimsical) Kokeshi doll, dating from the mid-to-late Showa era, a classic example of Japanese folk art. Made of natural wood, it boasts a glossy, hand-painted surface, vibrant red kimono, and stylized floral patterns on its clothing, while its traditional black hair is adorned with flowers. The doll's simple, smiling face perfectly captures the gentle aesthetic typical of that era.
Materials: Natural wood, hand-painted lacquer finish
Style: Floral kimono design, classic medieval aesthetics
Period: Mid-to-late Showa era (approximately 1960s to 1980s)
Condition: Good vintage condition with slight signs of aging, including minor surface wear, consistent with its history. No major damage.
This would be an excellent addition to any Japanese folk art collection or display.
The item will be carefully packaged for shipment and comes with a trackable service. All duties are included in the shipping cost, so there will be no extra charges upon delivery.
