Italy, model Tela Lino U.S.A., a 100% linen roll in white, 18.30 m long and 80 cm wide, vintage style, from the Marche region and unused.
Description from the seller
Rare roll of 100% linen “Linen Cloth U.S.A.” with parachute brand – a postwar historical memory – 20 yards
Fascinating original vintage linen fabric with the print “TELA Lino U.S.A. – 20 yds”, enriched by a striking parachute emblem.
According to family stories, these cloths would have been dropped by American Allied forces in the Italian countryside in the postwar period, intended for families as precious material for making domestic and wedding linens.
The parachute symbol printed on the fabric directly recalls this origin.
The fabric, in linen with a beautiful natural ivory color, features a tight and durable weave, ideal both as a piece of historical-textile collection and for high-craft projects.
The original length listed is 20 yards (about 18.30 meters), width 80 cm - 100% Linen (this is evident from the fabric’s translucency, as shown in the photo).
There are light signs of age and small pinpricks compatible with its age, which reinforce its authenticity and charm.
This is not just linen for sale, but a fragment of postwar memory of Italy.
More than a simple vintage fabric, it becomes a cloth with historical memory and testimonial value of the postwar era.
The parachute symbol perfectly gains narrative meaning: it evokes air-dropped materials by American Allies during and immediately after the war.
Shipping by insured trackable courier.
