Description from the seller

Elegant pair of hand-painted porcelain figurines, multicolored and crafted in hand, produced by the famous Sitzendorf Porcelain Manufactory (Thuringia, Germany), active since the 19th century and renowned for the quality of its figures inspired by Meissen models.

The finely hand-painted details, vivid colors and rich gilding testify to the prized craftsmanship of Sitzendorf production between the late 19th and early 20th century.

Founded by Wilhelm Liebmann in 1850, the manufactory was rebuilt after the 1858 fire by Alfred and Carl Wilhelm Voigt. In 1896 it became a limited liability company with a capital of one million marks; from 1902 it adopted the famous mark “Corona above S”.
