Description from the seller
Silver-plated cutlery set consisting of:
7 dinner spoons, length 19 cm
9 dinner forks, length 19 cm
8 dessert forks, length 17 cm
1 serving spoon, length 25.5 cm
1 fish-serving fork, length 25 x 6.8 cm
Handle: Features a tapered line that widens toward the final end. The terminal is of the “spatula” type, with a flat and rounded base. The tines: The most interesting feature are the two small symbols engraved at the base of the bowl, right where it joins the handle, which show notable historical value. The punch is the factory mark of Christofle, one of the most prestigious French silverware houses in the world.
Here are the details of the mark: a punch shaped like a stylized “balance” with the initials OC on the sides, fitted into a square, above the inscription CHRISTOFLE in block letters, while in the second punch located on the opposite side of the bowl, FRANCE is clearly legible inside the rectangle at the base and above the symbol of the “Knight” of chess (used for a specific production line). The letters O C stand for Orfèvrerie Christofle, with the balance and a chess knight on these flatware pieces dating to around 1935/45. The large fork has a hollow handle with stylized floral engravings, four tines plated in silver, Chinon model by Christofle France. Condition: Active. Current: 1862, now out of production.
