This is a beautiful silver-plated sugar bowl made by WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik) in Germany, dating to around 1900–1910. It is a piece that is over 100 years old and it looks fantastic. The body has a rounded form with handles on the sides. Running along the surface are engraved arch-shaped lines that frame oval cartouches filled with fine scrollwork and dotted beaded borders, repeated all the way around. The domed lid sits perfectly and is finished with a beaded edge and a rounded finial at the top. The interior is clean and in lovely condition. The finish combines high-polish silver plating with oxidized detailing in the decorative elements. The piece is stamped on the underside with the WMF ostrich mark, OX (indicating it was oxidized), and I/O for standard-thickness silver plating. The condition is good. A few small scratches, mostly on the underside, and some minor age spots, look great overall. No dents, breaks, or repairs.
