Antique double bed linen set, an authentic expression of Italian textile craftsmanship from the mid-20th century. The set is made of pure white cotton of excellent weight, characterized by rich and complex handmade workmanship that dignifies its aesthetics.

The set stands out for a coordinated decorative array of the highest quality, executed entirely by hand:

Coherent Cutwork (Intaglio): The cutwork technique is the absolute protagonist. It is featured in the elegant auspicious inscriptions "Sogni Felici" and, with extreme mastery, along the entire perimeter frill. This last element is not a simple cut-out, but a geometric cutwork job where the fabric has been perforated and refined with a very dense blanket stitch and joining bars, creating a lace-like effect of great strength and precision.

Raised Satin Stitch: The floral motifs, berries and small petals are executed in padded satin stitch, giving the design a precious three-dimensionality.

Grass Stitch: Used to define the stems and veins of the foliage that connect the embroidered sections.

Conditions and Conservation Notes

The fabric is structurally sound, strong and intact. As highlighted in the close-up photographs, there are a few small yellowing stains from storage (time yellowing due to the long period spent in a chest). They are typical signs of antique ensembles and do not affect the quality of the cotton.
