Description from the seller
Splendid pair of antique bronze chandeliers finely worked, dating to the second half of the 19th century, crafted in an elegant Rococo Revival style with Neoclassical influences.
Each chandelier features a richly decorated structure, characterized by a tripod base adorned with lion figures and refined pierced elements, supporting a central vase-shaped body embellished with vegetal motifs and relief details.
From the central stem, five sinuous arms develop harmoniously, finely chased with scrolls and floral decorations, culminating in as many candle holders, plus an upper central light. Particularly evocative is the presence of decorative suspended chains, which confer movement and theatricality to the whole.
The quality of the casting and the ornamental richness attest to a workmanship of good quality, typical of European decorative production at the end of the 19th century.
The patina of time, warm and uniform, further enhances the authentic character and historical charm of the pieces.
Epoch: XIX century (circa 1870–1900)
Material: bronze/brass (likely solid casting)
Number of lights: 6 per chandelier
Origin: Europe (likely France / Italy)
Stile: Rococo Revival / eclectic
Conditions: good overall condition, with signs of use consistent with age
