Kashmir, India – Silk on Cotton – circa 1960–1970
We present an elegant Kashmir rug, India, 100% handmade, crafted in natural silk on a cotton foundation, a classic combination reserved for high-quality pieces.
The rug features a refined floral design inspired by traditional Kashmiri motifs, with a light, balanced palette in ivory, olive green, black, and delicate reddish accents, which give it brightness and great decorative elegance.
Kashmir silk, renowned for its softness, natural sheen, and fineness, offers a very pleasant feel and precise definition of the design. The reverse confirms the handmade workmanship and the quality of the knotting.
Condition:
Very good overall condition for its age. Clean, well cared for, with original fringes preserved. No visible tears or restorations.
