Description from the seller

Elegant Chinese dropper for calligraphy, made of glazed ceramic celadon-type in cobalt blue tones. The piece features a globular egg-shaped body with a low profile, decorated with calligraphic and stylized motifs in blue on an ivory-cream background, evoking the aesthetic tradition of classic Chinese porcelain.

At the top there is a figure modeled in relief, probably a chilong (young dragon), a symbolic element associated with protection, energy and good fortune in Chinese culture. The modeling has a glossy glazed finish with bluish nuances that harmoniously contrast with the main body.

This type of dropper was used by scholars and calligraphers to dose water over the inkstone during the preparation of Chinese ink, forming an essential part of the set of the “Four Treasures of the Study.”

Decorative and functional piece, ideal for collectors of Asian art, traditional desk objects or oriental ceramics.

Excellent condition. No chips or defects.

Weight: 115 g.

Measurements:

Height - 5 cm approx.

Length - 8 cm approx.

Width - 6 cm approx.
