Daum Nancy - Vase - Violettes - Crystal - First Era

Small Japanese-style vase, model 'Violettes', from the first period of brothers Auguste and Antonin Daum, before perfecting their technique and influenced by the Art Nouveau Japonisme style. Their production was only between 1890 and 1900.

Uranium-colored crystal carefully hand-cut and hand-painted, with multicolored flowers. This is an extremely rare model that should not be missing from exquisite Daum Nancy collections.

The vase is in excellent condition with no chips but with discoloration of the gold paint along the upper rim, a characteristic of Daum. Slightly normal with age.

The bottom bears no signature. The signature may have been in gold and has wear from years of use, or simply, as with many early Daum pieces, it is unsigned. But it is undoubtedly a 100% original vase of excellent production quality. There is a similar sold specimen online (in Japan) with the same shape, color, and floral details as the offered item, where a subtle acid-etched Daum Nancy signature on the base is visible.
