Polished blue agate mineral specimen from Brazil, measuring 10.5 cm high, 8.5 cm wide and 5.5 cm deep, capable of standing independently.
Description from the seller
An impressive piece of blue agate, a natural stone that immediately draws the eye with its spectacular structure and color play. This specimen is partially polished, allowing both the rough character of the stone and its hidden crystalline heart to remain visible. The result is a fascinating interplay of natural geology and aesthetic beauty.
Agate belongs to the chalcedony family, a microcrystalline variant of quartz that has been valued for thousands of years for its unique banding structures and colors. The stone forms when silica-rich solutions slowly crystallize in cavities of volcanic rock. During this process concentric layers develop, creating the characteristic bands of agate.
With this specimen we see a particularly lovely blue color gradient, ranging from deep ocean blue along the edge to a soft, almost icy translucence in the center. The interior reveals a natural crystallization in which small quartz structures and fracture planes catch and reflect light. This crystalline core gives the stone an almost ethereal effect when viewed from different angles.
The exterior still shows part of the original rough matrix, which creates an authentic geological contrast with the polished surface. This makes it clear how the stone formed in nature. The piece has been professionally ground so that it can stand on its own, making it an excellent decorative mineral specimen for a display case, desk, or interior.
Blue agate is found worldwide, including Brazil, Uruguay, and parts of Africa. In particular, specimens with a clear band structure and an open crystalline core are greatly valued by collectors and mineral enthusiasts.
Thanks to its intense color, beautiful structure, and sculptural form, this piece is both a collectible and a strong decorative element that brings together natural beauty and geological history.
