Rare ensemble of 10 turned wood service bell handles and a wall rosette dating to circa 1900 in France, in an antique / domestic XIXe style, with dimensions from 6 to 12 cm and in fairly good used condition.

Rare Set of 10 Service Bell Pull Handles – 19th Century
Item Description
An exceptional lot of 9 pull handles and 1 turned-wood rosette, dating from the second half of the 19th century (Napoleonic III period).
These domestic objects were used in mansions to operate, via a system of cords and pulleys, the bells that summoned the household staff.
• Materials: Turned precious wood (Rosewood, Walnut, Boxwood) and finishes in bovine bone or other materials (tips and collars).
• Marquetry work: Wide variety of shapes (balusters, spindles, knurls) and carved decorations. Some pieces retain fragments of their original passementerie cords.
• Condition: Good overall condition. Authentic wear patina. Some signs of handling related to age, reinforcing the historical character of the lot.
On the photo, the two at the bottom right show that the system needs to be arranged.
