Jullian Paris - Easel - Beech - 1940's original

Rare Authentic Late 1940s Jullian "Original" French Box Easel – Handcrafted in France – Excellent Working A superb patinated example of the world’s most iconic artist's easel. This is an authentic "Jullian Production" French Box Easel, hand made in Paris, France, during the late 1940s. This "traveling studio" was famously designed by Roger Jullian to provide professional artists with a sturdy, portable workstation for plein air painting. Historical Dating & Authenticity: Origin: Handcrafted in the original Paris factory (pre-outsourcing). Jullian easel was manufactured in the original Jullian factory in Paris, France. This production was based in Maisons-Alfort, an area in the southeastern suburbs of Paris. The Stamp: Features the deep-embossed "Jullian Production" mark, the mid-century seal of French authenticity. The Wood: Made from premium European beechwood, naturally air-dried for years. It has aged into a beautiful, deep honey-gold patina that only comes with 60+ years of history. Character: The easel features a genuine artist's paint-splattered patina—a detail highly prized by vintage collectors for its "soul" and history. Mechanical Condition: Legs: The three telescoping legs slide smoothly and lock firmly with no slippage. Structure: Solid wooden frame with no cracks or structural splits. Hardware: Original heavy-duty brass-plated hardware and signature Jullian rivets (not screws) Complete; no screws missing Folded (Storage Size): 56 x 42 x 17 cm (approx. 22" x 16.5" x 6.5") Maximum Height: 184 cm (approx. 72") Max Canvas Capacity: Holds canvases up to 83 cm (32") high. Features: Includes sketchbox drawer for organized storage of brushes and paints. Including some tubes of paint, paint brushes and a beautiful used and colorful painting board Sometimes the simplest items are a true work of art in themselves. Investment Value: Unlike modern mass-produced versions, this mid-century "Made in France" model is a collector's item that holds its value. It is equally suited for a professional artist’s daily use or as a high-end vintage display piece.
