Origin: West Germany (FRG) West German classic.
Vesta was a trademark used by the West German company Westa (often associated with Richard Stübe or related manufacturers in the Westphalia area).
Many of these scales are marked "Made in Western Germany" or the German patent mark D.B.P. (Deutsches Bundes-Patent).
Period and Design
The scale fits perfectly into the 1950s and 1960s.
Durability: The brand was known for its robustness, and many of these scales still function flawlessly today as a piece of functional vintage
Period: This specific model with the large, graphic numbers and the characteristic yellow and brown color combination is typical of the 1950s -60s. The design is very typical of the "Space Age" style of that period.
Function: It is a foldable model intended to be mounted on the wall. The scale itself (the brown part) can be tilted up when not in use, saving space in the kitchen.
Capacity: As you can see in the middle of the dial, it can weigh up to 5 kg. It also has an adjustment knob at the top to reset or calibrate the scale.
