Description from the seller
Adolfo Vázquez (Art: Vaz), born in Madrid in 1974, is a contemporary Spanish artist based in Cobeja (Toledo). His work is situated within abstract expressionism, with a marked influence from action painting and gestural painting. Throughout his career, Vaz has developed a personal language characterized by the energy of the stroke, the spontaneity of the gesture, and the use of intense chromatic contrasts. His creative process is based on controlled improvisation, where movement and material play a fundamental role in constructing the work. He primarily works with acrylic on canvas, exploring textures, superpositions, and visual dynamics that convey strength, rhythm, and emotion. His compositions seek to generate a direct connection with the viewer, inviting them to freely interpret each piece.
Modern Blue is a unique original work created in acrylic on canvas, in a horizontal format of 140 x 70 cm and 2 cm thick, dated April 5, 2026 and hand-signed on the front and reverse. In this piece, intense blues, deep blacks, and gold accents predominate, providing brightness and contrast. The composition is articulated through a dynamic gestural language based on energetic strokes, splashes, and layered coats of paint, creating a sense of continuous movement and visual depth. The material richness and textures reveal the artist's direct creative process, where action and gesture are protagonists. The golden elements introduce points of tension and balance within the whole, adding sophistication to the work. It is a contemporary piece with great visual presence, ideal for modern spaces or abstract art collections. It is ready to hang.
