This is an authentic, original, one-of-a-kind Japanese production cel with its original matching background, hand-drawn and painted by studio artists at Shin-Ei Animation, and used in the creation of the beloved anime series Doraemon.
As original production materials, these artworks are entirely unique, with no duplicates in existence.
Created for internal studio use during the original broadcast production period, this set is a genuine artifact from the animation process of one of Japan’s most iconic and enduring anime franchises.
The artwork features Doraemon in a beautifully expressive close-up against a bright sky background.
Notably, the cel is stapled to the original background, as was common in studio production to maintain alignment. While they are joined in this way, the cel and background are not stuck together by paint, preserving their condition.
A Certificate of Authenticity will be included with your purchase.
This item is presented interleaved with MicroChamber paper, an archival material designed to protect artwork by reducing harmful acids and paint fumes that can damage animation cels over time. We are currently the only seller in Japan offering anime cels presented in this manner.
Please note that this is a vintage production item. Despite careful storage, minor age-appropriate wear such as light handling marks or subtle imperfections may be present. Buyers are strongly encouraged to examine all images carefully prior to purchase.
