■ About This Lens
The Canon New FD 28mm F2.8 is a compact and capable wide-angle lens introduced around 1979 as part of Canon's revised FD mount lineup. The "New FD" series brought a more streamlined bayonet mounting system compared to the earlier breech-lock FD design, making it faster and easier to use. Optically, the 28mm F2.8 delivers sharp, well-corrected images with natural rendering — an excellent choice for street photography, landscapes, and reportage. Today it is highly popular among mirrorless shooters worldwide, adapting seamlessly to Sony E, Fujifilm X, and other systems via FD mount adapters.
