Sword - Steel - China - kate 20thcentury

For sale is a vintage Chinese Jian, which is a traditional sword with a straight double-edged blade. More specifically, this model is a Tai Chi Sword (also known as Taiji Jian), used in martial arts for training, performance, or as a decorative item. The blade is protected by a solid wood scabbard (often made of rosewood or ebony), with an elegant and sober appearance. The sword is unsharpened, decorated with finely crafted metal elements that usually depict traditional motifs such as dragons, knots, or peony flowers. These swords are designed for practicing Tai Chi forms and are balanced to allow smooth movements. There are versions with flexible blades (for Wushu competitions) or rigid blades (for collection). The blue box with a floral pattern (brocade) it comes packaged in is specific to quality replicas made in traditional centers, such as Longquan in China. Length: 95.5 cm
