Description from the seller

Love and Psyche tattooed – a revisitation by Slasky
Inspired by François Gérard's 1798 painting Amore e Psiche.

In my interpretation, the two mythological protagonists abandon the neoclassical purity to embody an aesthetics marked by contemporary experience and identity. Psyche, seated in her iconic pose, preserves the delicate grace of the original gesture, but her body bears tattoos: arabesques, symbols and narrative signs that rewrite her skin as a living surface. Cupid, leaning over her, brushes her forehead with a kiss: even his wings and his body are decorated with tattoos, modern traces that dialogue with the ancient.

The scene does not lose its poetic intensity, but gains new resonances. The tattoo becomes a universal language, a sign of personal and collective stories that carve into flesh as much as emotions and memories. The neoclassical ideal merges with the visual culture of the present: Amore e Psiche transforms into eternal figures, yet finally anchored to an imagination that speaks to our time.
