Fetish - Dogon - Terracotta, wood, iron - Mali.

An ancient Dogon fetish consisting of a rounded terracotta vessel resting on three branches.
Inside there is a wooden head of a male figure that could be an ancestor.
One can also see a metal trident, an arrow, the representation of a child, a wooden plaque that splits at the top.
Finally a curved metal rod ending in two charms.
This kind of object appeared during ceremonies, notably during funeral rites.
You can see that the object has been used, evidenced by the remnants of libations.
It is in good condition.
It comes from the Bamba region.
