Description from the seller
"La Concipiente" is a wall sculpture by Francioni Mastromarino.
During their career Francioni Mastromarino have taken part in prestigious international exhibitions, including:
“Motifs of the Soul” in Pontedera
“Looking for Monnalisa”, where they presented a monumental sculpture: the world’s largest portrait of Leonardo da Vinci – over 5 meters tall with a diameter of about 4 meters – today acquired by Pavia and officially recognized as a city monument.
This work is a secular altar, designed to be exhibited with ease thanks to a hook on the back and resistant even outdoors, thanks to durable and sustainable materials.
The piece embodies the Creator Woman, capable of generating not only in the body, but also in the spirit and thought. In her are reflected intuition, the ability to welcome and transform, emotional intelligence, and a deep understanding of the world.
Her “nest,” which inspires the sculpture’s hairstyle, is a physical and symbolic place where ideas, emotions, and relationships intertwine to become new beginnings. The name “Concipiente,” from Latin con-capere, means “to take to oneself” and “to understand”: a double meaning that guides the work’s inspiration, reflecting the feminine power to absorb, feel, and create connections between inner life and the external world.
Signed in collaboration by Eleonora Francioni and Antonio Mastromarino, the work arises from an artistic and human collaboration that has lasted for over twenty years, where artistic research is conceived in synergy.
Traditional techniques blend with a contemporary vision of form and symbol. The sculpture is made of acrylic resin mixed with rice husk (a by-product of rice processing, transformed from waste into a durable resource), resting on an aluminum sheet. The choice of materials embodies the authors’ pursuit of concrete sustainability.
