Decorative ornament - Spain - 50 cm

Carved piece in golden wood, probably belonging to an altarpiece or decorative element of liturgical furniture.

Made in solid wood, hand-carved with vegetal motifs and scrolls clearly inspired by the Baroque. It preserves traces of its original gold leaf, with a beautiful natural patina that adds character and authenticity.

Given its characteristics and technique, it dates to around the 19th century (Neo-Baroque style), originally a decorative applique, possibly part of an altarpiece, frame, or ornamental church structure.

The back is unfinished and shows visible tool marks, evidencing the artisanal craftsmanship of the woodwork. Providing a clear indication of its handmade origin and its age.

Shows normal signs of use and the passage of time, in keeping with its age.
