Art Deco wall plate designed by Suzanne Guiguichon for La Maîtrise in 1923, produced at Keramis Boch La Louvière under Charles Catteau, made of fine faience earthenware with a diameter of 21.5 cm, in good used condition with typical craquelure and light browning.

Art deco wall plate designed by Suzanne Guiguichon on commission from La Maîtrise in 1923.
Produced in the Keramis Boch workshop La Louvière under artistic leadership of Charles Catteau.
A plate with identical decor is part of the Catteau Collection and is kept in the Keramis museum. Plate with identical decor also published in Catteau catalog by Marc Pairon.

Decor depiction: medallion with a simplified bird on a branch, amid flowers
Shape: K 0 in sunken relief (diameter 21.5 cm)
Material: fine faience K
Technique: cast mold - decor with printed contours, filled with cobalt blue, blue-gray, orange, yellow, brown and purple glaze. Craquelures especially visible in the white
Condition: good, with the typical craquelures, firing flaws and light brown discolorations. The drawing of the eye is notably well executed compared to plates with the same decor. See photos for a good impression.
