Edwardian Art Deco crystal and Sterling Silver perfume bottle from the United Kingdom, ca. 1910–1920, 9 cm high by 7.5 cm wide and 7.5 cm deep, 223 g, in good condition with minor signs of aging, featuring a ribbed crystal body, a star-cut base, and a polished silver overcap with a central circular medal.
Description from the seller
Lot: Perfume (or Cologne) bottle in Crystal and Sterling Silver
Style: Edwardian / Art Deco (c. 1910-1925).
Material: Translucent crystal and Sterling Silver.
Body: Globular (globe) bottle crafted in cut crystal. Features raised relief with a "ribbed pattern" (vertical ribs) that confer elegance and aid grip. Base with star-cut facets (star back) for stability and light refraction.
Cap: Fitted cap in sterling silver with a polished finish. The top presents a central circular medallion, framed by a border decorated with phytomorphic or repetitive geometric motifs.
Marks (Hallmarks): Visible punch marks on the silver neck indicate purity (Walking Lion for sterling silver), assay mark (likely Birmingham or London), and a date-letter corresponding to the production period.
Condition: Piece in good original condition. The crystal remains transparent with no evident deep chips. Silver with a natural patina of age (slight oxidation), removable by cleaning.
