Description from the seller
PALESTINE. 10 Mils. 1933.
- Value: 10 Mils.
- Year: 1933.
- Inscriptions: Obverse: PALESTINE · פלשתינה (א״י) · فلسطين · 1933 · ١٩٣٣ around the central hole; pearled peripheral border. Reverse: 10 MILS · עשרה מיל · عشرة مِلّ around a vegetal crown; pearled peripheral border.
- Grade: AU55 (PCGS).
Coin of 10 Mils in a base alloy with a central hole, a distinctive feature of the British Mandate emissions in Palestine. The obverse presents the territory’s name in English, Hebrew and Arabic together with the date in the Gregorian and Islamic calendars, reflecting the multilingual administration of the period. The reverse shows the face value in the three languages framing a delicate crown of stylized leaves/branches. It retains much of the original detail in the leaves and typography, with slight wear at the highest points and a uniform patina appropriate to the AU55 grade. A representative example of circulating coinage in the 1930s, in a context of increasing political complexity under British administration.
Disclaimer: For orders shipped outside the European Union, I want to be absolutely clear that I do ship from Spain, which means that if the package is sent to any country outside the European Union, and/or inside EU that has special tax agreement (example: Canary Islands), it might be stopped in your local customs and they might ask you to pay taxes. This is a customs legal procedure and it is completely out of our control. Thanks for your understanding.
