Description from the seller
Detailed description:
This rectangular table set, dating from the 1960s, is a remarkable example of textile craftsmanship. It comprises a tablecloth and four matching napkins, made in a high-quality linen and cotton blend with a tight weave.
The centerpiece of this set is the crochet lace work, entirely handmade. The tablecloth features a central crown composed of rosettes with stylized floral motifs, precisely inserted into the fabric. This motif is echoed on the drapes of the tablecloth as well as on each of the four napkins.
Dimensions:
• Tablecloth: 1.70 m x 1.20 m.
• Napkins: 35 cm x 35 cm (four in number).
The set is presented in exceptional conservation, close to new. The fabric has retained its firmness and its natural ivory color without any stains, yellowing, or wear on the embroidery. The edges of the tablecloth and napkins are also finished with a crochet trim in coordinating color.
This collector’s piece illustrates the finesse of mid-20th-century household trousseaux. It is ideal for refined daily use or to complete a collection of antique textiles.
