A 31-item mid-20th-century entomological collection, with real insects encapsulated in transparent resin blocks, displayed in a wooden case with a protective lid, all in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
Interesting and attractive entomological collection consisting of 30 real specimens encapsulated in transparent resin blocks, carefully arranged in a wooden display case with a protective lid, forming a visually striking ensemble with a strong decorative character.
Each capsule houses a different insect — among which beetles, Lepidoptera, Hymenoptera and other specimens are visible — preserved by encapsulation, a technique that allows you to clearly appreciate morphological details from all angles. The variety of shapes, sizes and tones adds richness to the whole, highlighting especially some specimens with vivid metallic reflections and the presence of a yellow-toned butterfly that provides contrast and visual balance.
The set is presented in a wooden display case measuring about 22 × 19 × 4 cm, which organizes the pieces into individual compartments, facilitating both observation and display. Each resin block measures approximately 4 × 2.5 × 1.5 cm, with a transparent finish that enhances the visibility of the specimens.
This type of collection, traditionally linked to cabinets of curiosities and naturalist interest, combines aesthetic value and educational character, being especially appreciated by both collectors and lovers of unique objects. Its tidy presentation and clean aesthetic make it an ideal piece for decoration in offices, libraries, or interiors with vintage or scientific inspiration.
The set is in good overall condition, with slight tonal variations in the resin and small marks typical of the passage of time, not affecting the integrity or overall appreciation of the pieces.
An attractive and versatile proposition that brings together nature, collection and aesthetics in a single object.
