Description from the seller
DESCRIPTION
A splendid and authentic Hereke silk carpet, hand-knotted in Turkey with exceptional craftsmanship and artistic finesse. Fully made from natural silk on a silk warp and weft, this carpet displays the characteristic luster and refinement that distinguish the best Hereke carpets.
The design centers on a flower-shaped vase flanked by two peacocks, symbols of beauty, prosperity and harmony. Finely woven floral borders frame the central motif, executed in a refined color palette of warm terracotta, olive green, ruby red, ivory and gold.
This small-sized carpet reflects the mastery of the Hereke weavers, who have produced silk court-quality carpets for the Ottoman palace since the 19th century. Due to its compact size and refined pattern, it is ideally suited to be displayed as a decorative wall rug or tabletop piece.
