Description from the seller
Description of the device
Vintage model from the golden age of Japanese audio (circa 1984-1985), the Technics RS-B40 is a capable and versatile cassette deck. It stands out for the integration of the dbx noise reduction system, delivering exceptional sound dynamics (up to 110dB), far superior to the classic Dolby standard.
Equipped with an MX (Metal Extra) head and a 2-motor mechanism, it ensures precise tape transport stability and full compatibility with all tape types (Normal, CrO2, and Metal). Its bi-color fluorescent segment display is not only precise for level adjustments but also adds that highly sought-after retro-futuristic aesthetic.
Technical Main Features
• Noise reduction systems: Dolby B, Dolby C and dbx (Type II).
• Head type: MX high-permeability read/write head.
• Motors: 2 motors (1 for the capstan, 1 for reel drive).
• Tape selector: Manual (Normal, CrO2, Metal).
• Power supply: 220V / 50-60Hz (European standard).
Condition of the item
• Aesthetic: Very nice cosmetic condition (see photos). The brushed aluminum front and the lid are well preserved.
• Functional: The device is operational. The displays and counter work perfectly.
