Description from the seller
Important French antique mirror from the Napoleon III era, dating from the second half of the 19th century, characterized by a rich wooden frame finely carved and gilded.
The structure features an elegant raised decoration with floral motifs, scrolls and carved sprigs that run along the entire perimeter, with accentuated corners and a shaped base. The original gilding preserves a pleasant patina of time, with slight wear that attest to its authenticity and historical charm.
The original mercury mirror shows the typical oxidations and veiling of the era, an element that increases its collectible value and antiquarian interest. The back is made of solid wood boards with a contemporaneous (coeval) structure.
