Description from the seller
Sewing Cabinet in Beech Wood\nDetails in Metal and Brass\nItalian manufacture, early 1950s of the 20th century.\n\nCharacterized by a morphology called an “accordion,” it is made of fine Beech wood. There are five usable compartments. The lower or base compartment is larger in capacity, and four upper compartments, two on each side, have smaller capacity. The closing and opening hinges are made of metal, which enhances its Modernist line, quite innovative for the era, making it particularly sophisticated and versatile.\nEquipped with 360° swiveling wheels with brass detailing, it has a handle to facilitate transport. The lower storage compartment is made of beech slats.\nPart of the furnishings in a noble residence, the item has remained over time in excellent condition as it was placed in rooms for guests. Rarely used, it shows no significant omissions or defects; it is original in every element and, considering its years of manufacture, the condition is excellent, i.e., with no lack or imperfection.\nPeriodically it has undergone beeswax treatment to nourish the wood.\nThe functional design, typical of Mid-Century Modern style, makes it an elegant and practical container.\nRefined, sought-after, elaborate and articulated, today it can be safely used to embellish any type of environment.\n\nSPECIFIC DIMENSIONS:\n\nTotal height with handle included cm. 55.5\nWidth from wheel to wheel cm. 34.5\nDepth from wheel to wheel cm. 22.5\n\nBeech Wood Box Specific Dimensions:\nWidth cm. 33.5\nDepth cm. 20.5\nHeight cm. 17\n\nWeight kg. 7 net of packaging.
