Description from the seller

Pair of Art Nouveau Brass Piano Candle Sconces

Elegant pair of wall-mounted candle holders executed in brass, dating to the early 20th century and designed in the characteristic Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) style.

These sconces are of the type commonly referred to as piano sconces, originally intended to be mounted on either side of an upright piano to illuminate sheet music. The articulated, elongated arms allow for adjustable positioning, combining functionality with refined decorative design.

The openwork structure and flowing lines reflect the organic aesthetics of the Art Nouveau period, while the balanced, symmetrical form gives the pair a strong visual presence.

Each sconce is fitted with a circular drip tray and candle socket. The brass surface displays a natural patina consistent with age.

Condition:
In good condition with signs of wear and oxidation consistent with age and use. No major damage; structurally sound and fully functional.
